There are many myths and legends of seemingly supernatural occurences in Latino culture. Many parallel those of other societies, such as El Cucuy, who resembles the Boogeyman monster in Western cultures. However, some are completely unique, such as the legend of La Adelita, the Mexican Soldadera (woman soldier).
